Massimiliano Allegri - Milan

Allegri focused on Scudetto race amidst ongoing speculation over his future with AC Milan

It has been reported that owner and honorary president Silvio Berlusconi has lost patience with the man who led the Rossoneri to the title in his first season at the helm.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri refused to be drawn on his future with the club after Wednesday evening's crucial victory over Genoa, but did point out that he still has two years to run on his current contract.

With the Rossoneri already having been eliminated from the Champions League and now three points behind title rivals Juventus after a poor run of form, speculation is mounting that owner Silvio Berlusconi is considering a change of coach.

Allegri, though, is remaining tight-lipped on the rumours, insisting that his sole focus is on overhauling the Bianconeri before the season's end.

"We’ll talk about the future another time ... but I still have two years left on my contract," he told reporters during his post-game press conference after the 1-0 win over Genoa.

"The only thing that I can do is give suggestions to the players, the coach is chosen by the club.

"President Berlusconi called me on the eve of the game as he always does. I told him that I still believe in the tile and I hope that Juventus will drop points."

Allegri also argued that Milan have done well to even maintain a Scudetto challenge in light of the amount of injuries they have suffered this season.

"At the moment I can only thank the players for what they’re doing because they’re keeping the championship alive," he stated.

"We’ve been a bit unlucky. The players put in a great effort from round six, when we had a 4 point lead and throughout that period we only had 15 to 16 players.

"Having more players on the bench would have been easier. Last year we were the team that made the best substitutions with the games in progress because very often the players coming off the bench can be more important than the players who start the game."

After seeing off Genoa at San Siro thanks to a late goal from Kevin-Prince Boateng, Milan will be hoping to keep up the pressure on Juventus when they travel to Siena this weekend.

Boateng keeps Milan’s title hopes alive

AC Milan 1-0 Genoa: Late Boateng strike keeps Rossoneri's faint title hopes alive against 10-man Grifone

The Ghanaian midfielder grabbed a late winner to maintain his side's hopes of lifting a second straight Scudetto, while ruining Luigi De Canio's baptism of fire in the process

AC Milan found a late winner to keep up the pace at the Serie A summit after they narrowly managed to break down a resilient Genoa outfit 1-0 at San Siro on Wednesday.

Juventus' slender win at Cesena meant the Rossoneri would have to equal their result to ensure their deficit remained at three points, and Massimiliano Allegri's side looked to be on their way towards making it only one win in six league matches, before Kevin Prince-Boateng popped up in the nick of time.

Unsurprisingly it was the champions' who took the match to their opponents from the offset, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic again spearheading the Milan attack and being entrusted with the responsibility of leading the line, while Stephan El Shaarawy and Urby Emanuelson tucked in behind.

However, the first notable chance of the game fell to Genoa, amid calls of a Milan handball offence. Rodrigo Palacio sent through Juraj Kucka on goal, but the Slovakia midfielder's shot was shut down by Alessandro Nesta with a flailing arm. However, the incident went unpunished.

Genoa came to San Siro with a game plan, and much to the delight of new coach Luigi De Canio, his team's compactness and tendency to breakon the counterattack was working. The hosts' spark seemed to fade as the half wore on.

And the second half was no different, or so it seemed for most part. Boateng, Ibrahimovic and Nocerino all had snapshots at the Genoa goal, but they all proved futile as the Rossoblu did their utmost to stifle the champions, and the fans understandably became restless.

Allegri was in no mood to let the status quo suffice, and he threw on Antonio Cassano and Maxi Lopez to compliment the introduction of Boateng earlier in the match, in a bid to force a hugely-important winning strike.

But the Grifoni's fine work in neutralising the Rossoneri took a huge blow with 20 minutes left to play, as Bosko Jankovic foolishly slid into the back of Ignazio Abate on the edge of the box to receive a red card, and it seemed a potential turning point had been realised.

From the resulting free kick, Mario Yepes had the goal at his mercy, but a superb instinctive stop from Sebastien Frey meant Genoa would live on for a little longer yet, but they could only take so much of Milan's wave after wave of attacks.

The winner came with only four minutes remaining, as Urby Emanuelson's cross was flicked on into the path of Boateng who powered the ball home

The gap remains three points at the summit with only four matchdays left, while Genoa continue to hover dangerously over the relegation places.

AC Milan 1-1 Bologna: Ibrahimovic rescues point but Rossoneri hand title impetus to Juventus after disappointing display

Sweden international's late, late leveller keeps 10-man host's flickering Scudetto hopes alive

The San Siro saw more late drama on Sunday afternoon, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic's 90th minute strike salvaged a 1-1 draw for 10-man AC Milan against visiting Bologna - who led for much of the game through Gaston Ramirez's strike.

The Swede earned his side a point after Daniele Bonera had been dismissed, but Massimiliano Allegri's men have now handed the advantage to Juventus, who meet Roma later.

After a well-observed minute's applause for ex-Italy U21 Piermario Morosini, who tragically died playing for Livorno last weekend, Milan started sharply.

Serie A's leading marksmen Ibrahimovic caused early problems and forced Rossublu keeper Federico Agliardi into action before winning a free kick that Clarence Seedorf dragged wide.

Soon after the Seedorf-Ibrahimovic combination almost paid dividends, the Dutchman flinging over a cross that the Swede brought down neatly, but side-footed wide from 12 yards out.

With Milan's pressing proving fruitless, the visiting Rossoblu started to show glimpses of attacking threat, Gaston Ramirez squaring across the six-yard box when he could, possibly should, have tested Christian Abbiati in the Milan goal.

Ramirez learnt from his mistake seconds later when Alessandro Diamanti robbed Mark Van Bommel near the halfway line and slid through the Uruguayan, who took a great touch before firing low past Abbiati.

Bologna's tails were up, particularly the flamboyant Diamanti, who tried an audacious long-range effort from the middle of the park before stinging Abbiati's palms with a free kick.

Milan were a yard off the pace, but nearly scrambled an equaliser, Robinho wriggling free only to see his cross blocked by the visitors' Archimede Morleo, with Antonio Nocerino set to pounce.

However, with half-time approaching, the greater threat was posed by Bologna, who nearly made it 2-0 when Belgian Gaby Mudingayi easily muscled past Bonera and sent a snapshot only a yard wide of Abbiati's upright.

Milan emerged for the second half with their title aspirations on the line and they started the second period with intent - Seedorf firing an effort straight at Agliardi and Nocerino slicing wide from six yards after some trickery from Robinho.

With goals needed, Rossoneri boss Massimiliano Allegri sent on maverick Antonio Cassano for Seedorf, and the sub was soon involved in controversy - the Italy international releasing Ibrahimovic whose deft chip over Agliardi crossed the line. The Swede's joy was short-lived, however, as the goal was chalked off for offside - when replays showed he was clearly on.

The hosts now had the bit between their teeth and Robinho fired in a blockbuster on the hour mark that was excellently turned away by Agliardi. Cassano was then denied by defensive heroics from Rossoblu stopper Agliardi and Daniele Portanova.

The, with time running out, Ibrahimovic notched an important late strike, meeting Emanuelson's cross to bundle home and snatch a point.

But the draw sees Allegri's men clinging to the hope that league leaders Juventus will lose this evening against Roma, and keep their Serie A dreams intact.

Ancelotti: Pato remains one of Paris Saint-Germain's top transfer targets

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in signing AC Milanattacker Alexandre Pato in the summer transfer window, despite his ongoing injury worries.

The Ligue 1 giants were believed to be close to signing the Brazil international in January, but the move eventually fell through.

Nevertheless, the 22-year-old remains one of PSG's main transfer objectives.

"Pato was one of our targets in January, and remains one of our transfer targets for the future. It's true that he has been injured a lot, but I still consider him to be an extraordinary talent who can prove himself to everybody," Ancelotti said to Rai Sport.

Pato has a contract with Milan until the summer of 2014, but the Rossoneri could opt to sell the attacker at the end of the season if a good offer comes in.

Ibrahimovic pledges himself to Milan

Ibrahimovic pledges himself to Milan

The towering Rossoneri striker has put an end to speculation regarding his future by insisting that he has no intention of leaving the Serie A champions any time soon

Ibrahimovic: My future is at AC Milan

The 30-year-old striker is happy with life at San Siro and stated that the Rossoneri must avoid mistakes in the home stretch if they want to win the race for the Scudetto

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has put an end to speculation about his future at AC Milan by insisting that he does not want to leave the Serie A champions.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ibrahimovic's agent had declared that his client was not interested in a new challenge, denying reports that the player had grown unhappy at the club's lack of continental success.

"As I have said many times I'm fine here, I have a contract, I have no other thoughts and I am determined to finish this season well with Milan," Ibrahimovic told Milan Channel.

"Milan have given me a smile and the desire to play, my future is here. I have no reason to say anything else: I am playing well because I am fine here, on and off the field.

"I will be back in training after Euro 2012 and my vacation."

The Swedish striker then cast his eye on the situation in Serie A, in which Milan are one point behind leaders Juventus, with only six matches remaining.

"We must stay focused and well prepared for each game," Ibrahimovic said.

"We want to win the league again, we are the defending champions. We are a point behind, but if we concentrate then we can get back in front.

"We could have won the matches against Catania and Fiorentina. The important thing is not to repeat our mistakes and do our best in the upcoming games."

Ibrahimovic joined Milan on loan in 2010 from Barcelona, signing for the Rossoneri on a permanent basis last summer.

'I will surely not go to Juve'

AC Milan defender Nesta has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to the Bianconeri, with the veteran claiming "I do not need to go to Juve, and they do not need me"

Nesta: I will never join Juventus

The Italian defender has said that he will not join the Turin outfit at the end of the season, but conceded that he does not yet know what his future holds

AC Milan centre-back Alessandro Nesta has quashed speculation linking him with a move toJuventus in the summer.

The 36-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the 2011-12 campaign, and the Italian has yet to commit his future to the club.

Juventus are reportedly monitoring Nesta's situation, with Andrea Pirlo revealing last week that he discussed the possibility of a move to Turin with his former Milan team-mate.

The ex-Italy international says that he has not yet made a decision on his future, but insists that signing for Juve is out of the question.

"We will see about my future, I will decide what to do at the end of the season," Nesta toldMilan Channel.

"I will surely not go to Juve, this is clear. Everything that has been written is not true. I do not have an agent and if someone wants me, they have to talk to me directly.

"No one has contacted me, I do not need to go to Juve, and they do not need me. There is no problem about this."

Nesta, who signed for Milan in 2002, has made 21 competitive appearances in 2011-12.

Maldini: Milan must forget 'phantom goal'

Maldini: Milan must forget 'phantom goal'

Maldini urges AC Milan to stop moaning about Juventus 'phantom goal'

The Rossoneri legend has voiced his opinion that the reigning champions should stop complaining about previous incidents, and has urged them to move on.

AC Milan icon Paolo Maldini has urged Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri to stop talking about Sulley Muntari's phantom goal against Juventus in their 1-1 Serie A draw earlier this season.
The Ghanaian's strike crossed the line but was not given in the draw between the Scudetto challengers in February; much to the dismay of Allegri, who has brought up the incident more than once in recent weeks.

"I agree that it was an important incident, but it's in the past now. You have to forget in order to relax and focus on your job. It's better for both sides to avoid further controversy," Maldini said to reporters at an Adidas event.

"Milan have lost two of their three objectives for the season within three weeks. They were eliminated from the Champions League and Coppa Italia, but are still in the race for the Scudetto.

"Any team can slip up. It's very common this season. I'd say that both Juventus and Milan have a 50 per cent chance of winning the title."

Milan are currently one point behind Juventus in the Serie A table, with six games still to play.

The Brazilian club's supremo has stated it is both the wish of the player and the Copa Libertadores champions that the attacker heads home, but the possibility of a transfer is in AC Milan's hands

AC Milan's Robinho wants to return to Santos, says president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro

The president of the Copa Libertadores champions says that the Brazilian attacker is interested in returning to the club after enduring a disappointing spell in Italy this season

Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has said that AC Milan forward Robinho is eager to return to the Brazilian club.

The 28-year-old has cut a frustrated figure at Milan this season, scoring only nine goals to date in all competitions with the Serie A champions.

A move back to Santos has been suggested as a possibility, and the Brazilian club's president stated that Robinho would not be opposed to the transfer.

"I think there is a chance that he might return, yes," Ribeiro told Arena SporTV. "Santos want this to happen, and so does Robinho.

"Now, it is up to Milan. We will talk to them."

Robinho, who signed for Milan in 2010 in an €18 million deal, played in Santos' first team between 2002 and 2005 before he returned to the club on loan in 2010 after a poor spell at Manchester City.

AC Milan had many walking-wounded during the 1-0 over Chievo, but the situation is less dire for coach Massimiliano Allegri for the clash at San Siro.

Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has a foot problem, but is expected to feature nonetheless, while defender Daniele Bonera and midfielder Alberto Aquilani return from suspension with the former slotting in at right-back. However, veteran Massimo Ambrosini and centre-back Thiago Silva are sidelined due to injury.

Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel has recovered to play at the heart of midfield, but playmaker Kevin-Prince Boateng and striker Alexandre Pato are still not available. Thus, Stephan El Shaarawy looks set to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front with Robinho, Antonio Cassano, and Maxi Lopez all options off the bench.

Genoa's situation seems to be getting worse by the week as the coaching reappointment of Alberto Malesani, following the sacking of Pasquale Marino, has done little to lift their form and they now sit just two points above the relegation zone.

Former Milan man Kakha Kaladze is injured along with midfielder Kevin Constant, while Fernando Belluschi and left-back Emiliano Moretti are both suspended.

Another ex-Rossonero, striker Alberto Gilardino, could find himself on the bench to start this one in favour of Ze Eduardo who could partner the club's top-scorer Rodrigo Palacio upfront.

The Argentine has been the only one able to consistently provide a threat for Malesani's side and despite the team's slump, still has three goals in his last four matches. If Genoa are to get a shock result, it is likely the former Boca Juniors star will be at the heart of the effort.
    Prediction
Genoa nearly pulled off a shocking comeback on their last trip to San Siro, a 5-4 loss to Inter, but Milan do not have the defensive issues that have plagued their city rivals and Allegri's men should see off the visitors, despite their desperation to avoid relegation, with relative ease.
